JUCO ALL-AMERICAN COMMITS TO LAKEHEAD

Venzal Russell has recently committed to Lakehead University and the Men's basketball program. Russell is a 6'2" guard who is expected to make an immediate impact with the 'Wolves in the form of an added defensive presence and a boost to the transition game.

Russell was a division 3 junior college All-American at Vermillion CC in Ely, Minnesota. His highlights at Vermillion CC include the school's first and only quadruple-double and a national player of the week honor.

Russell was a two-sport star while growing up in Detroit, MI. At Robichaud High School he broke former Michigan Wolverines running back Tyrone Wheatley's rushing and touchdown records from the quarterback position.

Venzal has three years of eligibility remaining and is expected to be a great fit with the team both on and off the court. For the media release including quotes from Coach Morrison and Russell's former coach, please see the link below.
